Christmas in Galicia: Exploring Santiago de Compostela
It felt like a real-life Gothic movie set.

After a week of exploring a quiet coastal town in Galicia, my friends and I traveled to Santiago to see the city. I had an evening train ride back to Madrid, so we arrived in the late morning—just in time to have brunch, visit the local cathedral, and view the Gothic and Baroque buildings that lined the squares and streets of Santiago.
The mossy and green vines climbing across Gothic buildings, the dampness, and the sun’s constant struggle made me feel like I had wandered onto a Dracula set. I couldn’t help but wonder what it might look like in the summer, but it was certainly an interesting place to visit in the early days of a Spanish winter.
