Today, I drove through monsoon rains from Willcox to Ajo, AZ. We had downpours so heavy, we were on the highway with blinkers on, going 40 mph in a 75 mph zone. By Tucscon, our phones were going off with flash flood warnings for the city.
While driving through Tohono O'odham Nation Reservation, we crossed at least a dozen flooded washes. At the first wash, the car at the front stopped at the water for a few minutes. We waited patiently because none of us were sure if we could cross. My FJ Cruiser was built for fording, but I had never crossed water like that ― and definitely not with the trailer attached.
