In October of 2023, I got the opportunity of a lifetime. One month into my tech master’s degree, a recruiter asked me if I’d like to work for Google. Initially, they made it seem like a copywriting or technical writing job. But after doing the test, I realized:
Nope! I’ll be training Google’s AI.
The work wasn’t the only thing that wasn’t as advertised. I was told the role would last for just three months. Since then, they’ve renewed my contract three times, and I’ve been told my job isn’t going anywhere.
This week—after about seven months as a subcontractor on Project Magi—I got my official Google email and laptop.
So, why is this a bad thing? I’ll explain.
