Last time, we talked about how difficult it can be to get your mail while traveling across states or crossing country borders. I have had mail chase me across state lines and some that never reached me. Everything from voting to getting Amazon packages can be a hassle when traveling full-time.
Unfortunately, I don't have a foolproof solution that will solve all your mail problems. But here are some that have worked for my nomad friends and me over the years.
1. Pause Your Mail
Holding your mail won’t help you get your mail immediately. But it does stop your mail from piling up. This, in turn, prevents the following:
The risk of someone stealing your mail, especially if you have something important on the way.
The risk of your mail blowing away once the mailbox gets full.
The possibility of people realizing you’re away from home.
Not everyone travels full-time. I meet many people who do a few months on and a few months off. Whether you’re leaving for a few days or months, holding your mail is a great way to keep it and your home safe until you return.
