RVs are among the most dangerous vehicles on the road. All it takes is the wrong gust of wind or a tire blowout. Next thing you know, your tiny home on wheels is on its side. Some RVers push their luck even more by triple towing, i.e. they tow a trailer that’s towing another trailer.
I covered roughly 42,000 miles in my FJ Cruiser over the four years as a full-time RVer. I have never had an accident. And my only ticket was a failed bribe attempt by police officers in Mexico.
My license was less than two years old when I started RVing and I am far from perfect. What I am, however, is strategic. While no best practice can guarantee your safety, knowing what lane to pick is crucial for staying safe—especially if you tow!
