Every so often, I come across a place I only want to share with very few people—or not at all. For my birthday, I took a trip to one such place. It had piqued my interest in the summer, and I spent weeks obsessing over it before finally booking my trip.
But before we get to that, let’s talk about Joshua Tree. I think of Joshua Tree as the place where it all began in 2018. It wasn’t my first solo trip or even my first time in the California desert. Still, something about that first visit to this part of Southern California led to a drastic shift in my life.
There are very few places during my time as an RVer that I visited twice or stayed for longer than 30 days. Joshua Tree is a glaring exception. I have visited the area four times and wintered there twice for 4-6 months each.
